DIY Glass Projects: Customer Roundup

What can you make with glass or mirror? Apparently, almost anything!  Many of our customers are avid DIY-ers and finish off their projects with glass or mirror, custom cut by the experts at Dulles Glass & Mirror. Let’s take a look at some of the most recent projects!

A DIY Outdoor Table with a Custom Glass Top

“My top was easy to order, came quickly, and looks great!” Customer William J. used a little ingenuity to come up with a fun outdoor table made out of a beer keg. Notice the red stripe that matches with the red top for the counter in the background. We love it when our customers make tables out of every day objects!

This is a super easy DIY project. Once you’ve found the object you want to make into a table, you can easily order custom glass table tops online. Some things to remember about ordering your new table top if it is for a pedestal table:

  • Glass Thickness: 3/8″ or 1/2″ glass is best for this application.
  • Edge Types: Flat polish, pencil polish, or beveled polish edges are your best choice.
  • Glass Strength: Tempered glass is recommended for added safety and strength, especially if your table is for an outdoor table in a place where there is a lot of activity.

Don’t forget — you can also order bronze, gray, or frosted glass for your table top as well, so you can be sure to match any decor!

A Retro Side Table with Class

Wow! Just wow! I bought a custom piece of mirror for a bar cart (I broke the original mirror glass and I was so worried that I wouldn’t find a replacement because the glass was tinted brown!) Needless to say I bought the brown tinted mirror and it’s better than the original!!! I’m sooo impressed…it was everything that I wanted!!! I highly recommend shopping here and I will most definitely buy from them again!!”

This enthusiastic endorsement comes to us courtesy of customer Jericia D. We’re so glad she found something that would work for her lovely cart! While not so much a DIY project, replacing broken mirrors yourself (and getting exactly what you want) certainly provides a sense of satisfaction over getting rid of your damaged table entirely.

Stylish Kitchen Shelves for a DIY Cooking Space

“Great looking shelves. Very sturdy and stable.” Customer Diane S. should be very proud of her stylish new kitchen design, which she finished off with custom glass shelves in a very modern bronze color.

When you order custom shelves online, you can choose the thickness and size of your new shelf, to fit your space perfectly. You can also choose from different tints of glass, from bronze to frosted!
